Healthful Meals Take Advantage
of the Healing Power of Food

We offer a variety of educational programs including monthly lectures and cooking classes at the UCSD Moores Cancer Center, as well as other classes in the greater San Diego community focusing on the healing power of food.

Monthly Lectures. Learn about the latest research on dietary factors that strengthen your body’s immune and detoxification systems, along with practical tips for optimizing your intake of protective BIG COLOR/BIG FLAVOR foods. “Fighting Cancer with Your Fork” taught by Vicky Newman, MS, RD. provides a practical overview of nourishing foods essential for health and healing, with tips on how to incorporate these foods easily into your life. Healing Foods Cooking Classes teach participants how to prepare easy and healthy recipes using foods that promote health and help fight disease. Classes taught by Susan Faerber and other members of the Prevention Program include demonstration, discussion about ingredients and cooking methods, tasting, and recipes. For more information about the classes, you can view the class Topics and watch this video clip CBS-8.
